What we are doing

Kontent.ai is a headless Content Management System (CMS). Our goal is to provide our growing customer base with the best way to work with content. Kontent.ai is a global, well-established leader in the web content management industry. Now, we are looking for a Sales Director to significantly grow our business on the West Coast with the support of marketing/demand generation, pre-sales engineering and executive sponsorship.

Your role

You are already an accomplished new business sales professional with demonstrable experience in exceeding targets and closing Enterprise level contracts for a SaaS, CMS, DXP or MarTech vendor. 

We divide North America into 2 primary regions with a line drawn from North to South on the Western boundaries of Ontario, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas and Louisiana. As Sales Director - North America West you will be ultimately responsible for all new business sales activities generated through your own initiatives, inbound marketing, outbound demand generation, solution partners and events for everything to the West of the East / West regional split. 

This is a 100% new business role and you will be pivotal in driving the adoption of our solution into major enterprises across all industry verticals including Healthcare, FMCG, Retail, Telco, Pharmaceutical, Gaming and many more. We already have strong referenceable clients to support you in your goal of closing new contracts. 

With a wide spread of industries to target, there is plenty of variety in your daily work and two days are never the same. However, you will not be doing it alone. Already In place is a global marketing team driving brand awareness and business enquiries to your region, along with SDR and Pre-Sales support you will be set up to succeed in a region with an existing pipeline of live opportunities in place.

Kontent.ai has a flat management structure and is certainly not known for micro-management. This is a role for a proven sales professional who can hit the ground running and take over and grow an active healthy pipeline. We welcome constructive ideas for business improvement and you will be given the freedom to make your own decisions to grow the revenue in your region.

Responsibilities

  • Own accountability for meeting and exceeding quarterly and annual sales targets for the region
  • Grow the business relationships with new clients and solution partners
  • Identify, recruit and onboard new Kontent.ai solution partners
  • Educate partners and partner clients about the product's capabilities and how this solves business challenges
  • Execute structured opportunity management procedures
  • Understand and identify client strategic objectives/needs to align the Kontent.ai value proposition
  • Expedite the sales cycle and demonstrate superior knowledge of products and services and how they can be utilized for maximum impact by addressing the prospect's current challenges
  • Strive to increase market share and support sales & marketing programmes
  • Perform sales presentations/demonstrations to match products with defined requirements
  • Participate in industry-relevant social networks and events
  • Report to VP Sales North America and executive board on risks and opportunities in the region

Requirements and skills

  • 5+ years of enterprise software or solution sales experience. Ideally in enterprise SaaS sales
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales quota
  • Previous experience selling enterprise technologies such as Digital Experience Platforms (DXP), Commerce Platforms, CRM, PIM, CDP, Marketing Automation, CMS technologies or similar
  • Must have a proven “hunter” background with consultative, solution selling experience - we sell by solving current business and technological challenges for prospects and not feature / function of our technology
  • Experience in working with a  proven sales methodology such as SPIN, MEDDIC or Challenger Sales is a bonus
  • Solid understanding of SaaS, Micro-services, SEO, online marketing and other current web-related technologies such as JAMstack and MACH
  • Excellent presentation skills, business writing skills and oral communication skills
  • Ability to travel for company and client meetings throughout US, and Europe 1-2 times per year for company meetings.
  • Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
  • Must be located within the defined West Coast territory
