Learn what the Developer Certification exam is about and how to prepare for it.
Become a Kontent.ai Certified Developer and set yourself apart from an everyday developer! The exam tests your in-depth knowledge of Kontent.ai, which is needed for a developer to create a successful project. The testing areas are:
  • APIs
  • Architecture – features and infrastructure
  • Content delivery
  • Content modeling
  • Subscriptions, projects, and collaboration
  • Terminology and concepts
We recommend reading through the Learn portal, including the API reference. Look also at the product website to gain a basic product overview and some trial or real-world experience. The listed prerequisites for Developer Certification are not the complete list of the tested knowledge. The exam is platform-agnostic. We don’t test any knowledge specific to a programming language.

Exam format

  • The Developer Certification exam is a 40-minute online test.
  • There are 40 questions with one correct answer unless stated otherwise.
  • To pass the test, you need a minimum score of 80%.
  • There is no penalization for wrong answers.
  • If you successfully pass the certification test, you’ll be awarded a certificate valid for 2 years.
If you don’t pass the exam, you can retake the exam when you feel confident enough (after 24 hours at a minimum).

Fair use policy

You’re allowed to use any tool or help that you can find during the exam, except for the following:
  • Assisting other people or accepting assistance from other people when taking the exam
  • Copying, publishing, disclosing, distributing, or otherwise sharing the exam content or the test questions and answers, whole or in part, in any form or by any means, verbal or written, electronic or mechanical, for any purpose, or finding answers in such shared information
Breaking this policy can result in terminating provided services, including but not limited to a permanent ban from Kontent.ai certifications and terminating all valid Kontent.ai certificates for the user and/or all users in the user’s subscriptions. It’s not possible to transfer certifications between user accounts. If you start using a different user account, you need to pass the certification again to get your new account certified.

Exam appeal process

If you believe there has been an error with your exam results or you wish to contest the outcome, please reach out to our support team using the chat button in the bottom right corner. To initiate an appeal, send us a detailed message including specific examples and argumentation supporting your case. We take all inquiries seriously and will review your submission carefully. Appeals must be submitted within 5 days of receiving your exam results.
