Content repository

A content repository is a location where content items are stored. It is typically a content management system (CMS), but in some cases, organizations use file servers to store content items. Often, organizations have multiple content repositories.

More broadly, repositories include any storage system for content-related inputs and attachments, such as digital assets (images, videos, audio), documents (PDFs), and data repositories.

A content hub provides a central repository for storing all content items, and provides integrated access to repositories holding content assets and other related materials.
