When working on your content items, you need to make sure what you’ve written is correct. However, self-reviews may result in an oversight of mistakes or missing parts in your written content. This lesson shares how comments and suggestions with other collaborators can help make your editing process more refined.
Comments in Kontent.ai are a great tool when your reviewer needs to let you know that you should, for instance, rephrase some text to make it more understandable or replace an image with one in higher resolution. You can reply to comments when you think something needs further discussion or clarification and when you’re done with the work proposed in a comment, you can resolve the comment to mark it as done.Suggestions are like comments, except they’re more directly actionable. When your reviewer has an exact textual change in mind, such as changing a preposition, they suggest such change and all you need to do is approve the suggestion. The highlighted text gets automatically replaced with what’s been proposed.
Find comments and suggestions
In Kontent.ai, nothing gets lost. When you resolve comments and suggestions or delete text that contains unresolved ones, you can still find and restore them.
There might be times when you’ll be on the other side of the author-reviewer line and you’ll be asked to review a piece of content for someone else. This time, you won’t be resolving comments and applying suggestions, you’ll be the one creating them! Sounds like an exciting responsibility, right? Let’s dive in.
When you resolve a comment or suggestion, it gets archived into the list of resolved comments. To review the list, click More actions > Show resolved. If you’ve resolved a comment or suggestion by accident, you can always restore it by clicking Reopen.
You might accidentally delete text with comments or suggestions. No worries, they don’t get lost. Although they’re not visible in the text anymore, you can still work with these comments and suggestions in the content item’s discussion. Click More actions > Show discussion to view them.
Keyboard shortcutsThere are a lot of actions in Kontent.ai you can do faster by using keyboard shortcuts. With every action in the video that has a keyboard shortcut, you’ll see the keys for the particular action on the screen.
