The Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria, Australia (PMCV) is the primary representative body for healthcare professionals in the state. PMCV administers the state’s healthcare Match system, which places doctors, nurses and medical radiations staff into hospital roles via a preferencing and ranking algorithm. To ensure quality care for all patients in a timely manner, open positions for doctors or nurses must be filled with qualified candidates, with a rigorous vetting and approval process that is unique to each role type. With almost 150 participating hospitals spread across the state, this requires a highly effective and efficient recruitment and placement solution.

The challenge of matching roles to candidates

The process to recruit and match doctors and nurses to open positions varies significantly depending on the role.  Differences include requirements around documentation, background checks, professional references, methods of payments, and the application process itself. The client needed a way to easily configure and update content, process steps, and system rules (such as the number of hospitals a candidate could add to their shortlist) for each job role. This meant business users needed fine-grained control over every job type, with the ability to change details and processes in real time. No off the shelf solution existed, and traditional approaches required technical resources to configure and manage the system.

Much-needed control over the entire process

The Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) turned to Bound to devise a solution that gives their administrators control over the entire recruiting experience, with the goal of accelerating the process of matching qualified candidates to open positions.
