The content lifecycle tracks significant phases in the life of content.  These include the phases that all content items go through, from inception to retirement.  These are:

  2. Planning and setting goals: planning new items to create;
  3. The design and creation of new content items;
  4. Delivery and promotion of content items to audiences;
  5. Engagement: audience use and interaction with content items;
  6. Optimization of recently-published content items based on current performance
