Content lifecycle.
The content lifecycle tracks significant phases in the life of content. These include the phases that all content items go through, from inception to retirement. These are:
- Systematic assessment of published content (content inventory and content audits), and identification of gaps and new opportunities
- Planning and setting goals: planning new items to create
- The design and creation of new content items
- Delivery and promotion of content items to audiences
- Engagement: audience use and interaction with content items
- Optimization of recently-published content items based on current performance
