Innovation Lab terms of use

Innovation Lab Features may include AI-powered functionalities, such as AI assistants, agents, automation tools, or other machine learning–based features.Participation in the Innovation Lab is voluntary and subject to these terms.

Participants expectations

Your feedback is invaluable to us during the development phase. By participating in our Innovation Lab, you can influence the course of the features you’ve opted for and help us determine which aspects provide the most value. Your input plays a crucial role in shaping the development of the features. We kindly ask participants to start using the features they opt for right after they activate them. Initial feedback is collected by an automated in-application feedback questionnaire within about 14 days. However, you don’t need to wait for the automatic questionnaire. Feel free to provide your feedback anytime you see fit. In addition to getting your feedback automatically, we may follow up with you or your colleagues to gain further context on your insights. We value in-depth feedback and may request your participation in occasional video calls to exchange ideas and address any questions you may have.

Support and resources

The Innovation Lab Features do not fall under our standard SLA coverage; we do, however, use reasonable efforts to provide support to Innovation Lab Features and implement your feedback. The Innovation Lab Features are provided “AS-IS” and may, as with any pre-release product, contain bugs and design flaws, particularly outside the main user journeys. Also, remember that Innovation Lab Features may rely on 3rd-party services, which may have different availability and performance compared to what we use in public releases. As a result, occasional outages of Innovation Lab Features or their longer loading or response times may occur. We are actively working to optimize and stabilize these aspects of Innovation Lab Features to deliver a seamless experience. While our customer support team may not be able to address all your questions, they will redirect conversations with our product team, who can provide expert advice and guidance. Response times from the product team may not be as fast as those of our customer support team.

Data processing

As a part of the Innovation Lab, we may collect and process limited personal data for the following purposes:

• Testing and evaluating Innovation Lab Features,
• Ensuring functionality, stability, and security,
• Diagnosing and resolving technical issues and
• Improving feature performance and development.

We may process the following data categories:

• User-provided information and personal data, including user identification data (such as name, email, user ID), content, prompts, and materials submitted while using the features, code, or machine-readable data voluntarily input into the features,
• System generated data, including responses generated by the platform, outputs from Kontent.ai and integrated third-party services, technical logs, telemetry, and diagnostic data,
• AI interaction data, where applicable, including prompts, messages and instructions, AI generated responses, conversation history, and performance logs.

Personal data processed within Innovation Lab Features are processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws and based on:

• Performance of contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), where you voluntarily enable Innovation Lab Features or participate in feedback activities, and/or
• Our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in developing, testing, securing, and improving experimental and pre-release functionalities

The content shared and discussed within the Innovation Lab is subject to our mutual confidentiality and non-disclosure obligations applicable to the use of the Kontent.ai product to protect the integrity of the features, the program, and your data. AI interaction data are not used to train general AI models. You can disable any Innovation Lab Features by deactivating it in Kontent.ai or contacting our customer support. Deactivating Innovation Lab Features stops any data collection mentioned above. Our terms of service and privacy policy are also applicable.

Data sovereignty

Certain Innovation Lab Features may process your data, including personal data, in geographic regions other than where your Kontent.ai project is hosted. By using these features and giving your consent, you acknowledge and agree that your data may be transferred and processed outside its original hosting region. The data may be subject to the laws of the country of origin and the laws of the country where it is stored or processed. We comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and ensure robust security and privacy protection for your data regardless of processing location.

Closing remarks

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on the website, and you will be informed about such a change. Continued use of Innovation Lab Features signifies acceptance of the updated Terms. We appreciate your and your colleagues’ participation and are committed to your success.
