You can make your workflows as simple or as complex as your content creation process requires:
Multiple workflows and restrictions on the first workflow stepRole restrictions on the first workflow step work differently depending on whether you have multiple workflows enabled in your environment:
Head over to our workflow documentation for a step-by-step tutorial on setting up workflows.
Once your workflows are set up, the people on your team know exactly how they fit into the process.
- You can define workflow transitions for each step so your content creators have clear steps to follow. For example, Draft > Review > Approved > Published.
- For each step, you can specify which roles can work with it. For example, only Reviewers can move content from Review to Approved.
- With multiple workflows enabled: a new content item is always created in the workflow's first step, even if the creating user's role can't work with that step. The item stays inaccessible to that user until someone with the right role moves it forward.
- Without multiple workflows enabled: a new content item is created in the first step the creating user's role can work with, skipping ahead if needed.
