Manage navigation tree in spaces
The navigation tree in spaces represents your website navigation and consists of content items as pages. The actual page content (such as articles, blog posts, or landing pages) lives in separate content items.
Grow your navigation from the root
A root item is any content type that has a Subpages element, which acts as the top-level unit of your navigation hierarchy. With this root item assigned to a space, you can start adding structure to your navigation.Add content items to the navigation tree
To create a new content item as a page in the navigation tree:- In
Content & assets, open a content item for editing.
- Click
to reveal the navigation tree.
- Hover over the root item and click
.
- Click
Create new page.
- If collections are available to you, select one for the new page.
- Choose a content type.
- Provide a name and title for the new content item.
Remove content items from the navigation tree
If you want to remove an item from your navigation tree but keep it in the project, remove it from the element it's under.- In
Content & assets, open a content item for editing.
- Select the item you want to remove.
- In the
Content details panel, look at Used in to find out where the item is used.
- Open the parent item from Used in.
- Find the element where the item is linked.
- Click
for the item you want to remove.
- In
Content & assets, select the item you want to delete.
- Select
More actions >
Delete.
Reorder items
To change the order of items in the navigation tree:- In
Content & assets, go to your root item.
- Select an item with subpages you want to reorder.
- Find the element that contains the page items.
- Drag and drop the page items to reorder them.
