Course catalog

Advanced
Many educational institutions need a robust and manageable model to accommodate detailed information about faculty, courses, and programs, including prerequisites, credits, and departmental affiliations. This accelerator is designed to have seven comprehensive and interconnected content types to ensure the accurate representation of information regarding courses, departments, and other affiliates of such an educational institution. It showcases Course connected to Person, Program, and also itself as a course prerequisite for students to complete. Both Course and Program are connected to Person to show who is the program coordinator, faculty, and department head – with the help of the Department content type. The Department is connected to Contact, where you can gather a department’s Address and contact details. Because Contact is connected to Link, it can include each department’s website. The Course’s taxonomy categorizes the subjects or courses typically found in a curriculum, while the Program’s taxonomy categorizes programs into different types of degrees that students can achieve. This is so that the taxonomies can help with enhancing searchability and organization. The accelerator presumes integration for managing unique identifiers like Course ID, Employee ID, Program IDs, and Department ID. This ensures consistent data and meets external and internal standards. The imported model represents them in content groups for Course, Person, Program, and Department. Each group has a text holder for your integration and a guidelines element with more information on third-party services integrations.
